The campground has a beautiful location with plenty to explore, but it unfortunately suffers from various maintenance issues. The staff did their best to assist, but the facilities were in dire need of upgrades. I wouldn't consider returning until some serious improvements are made, especially regarding the electric issues and the condition of the grounds.
Rooms

There were issues with the utilities at the campground, and I didn't get the full hookup that was promised for my site.

We had a mixed experience during our stay at the campground. The potential is there, with a pretty location and nice campsites, but the maintenance issues were hard to overlook. The pool was closed, and the bathhouse needed serious repairs. We had to fend for ourselves upon arrival, which wasn’t ideal, and it definitely affected our overall enjoyment.
Rooms

We had a pull-thru campsite that was spacious and nice, but the environment around the campground was pretty rundown.
Service
5.0
There wasn't much in the way of service since there was no manager present and we had to figure things out on our own.
Location

The location is beautiful, situated in nature, but the lack of upkeep made it less enjoyable.

Our experience at Bear Cave Resort had its ups and downs. The property itself is set in a beautiful location and has potential, but it suffers from some serious neglect. While we appreciated the attentive on-site staff, especially Roger, the overall facilities left much to be desired. The constant damage from weekend locals was disappointing, and the pool area was in dire need of repairs. It's a peaceful retreat during the week, but I would advise caution if considering a weekend stay.
Rooms

The accommodations were basic but served their purpose. We appreciated the full hookups, but it felt chaotic upon arrival due to the first come first served policy, even with a reservation.
Service
7.0
The staff was dedicated, especially Roger who checked in on us regularly. His friendly demeanor made our stay feel more secure, though the overall service suffered from a lack of direction.
Location
8.0
Nestled in a scenic area, the resort has a lovely backdrop. However, weekend crowds could affect the tranquility we enjoyed during the week.
Dining
Facilities

The facilities are in need of significant attention. The pool was closed due to safety issues, and the playground equipment seemed unsafe. Overall, they need a complete overhaul.

The campground offers a stunning view from the sites near the river, but unfortunately, it lacks maintenance and the availability of amenities. While the fishing experience in the river was enjoyable and the nearby market had delightful treats, the overall experience was marred by power outages, poor service, and a lack of essential facilities. It's a lovely spot in nature, but be prepared for some inconveniences and limited options if you visit during peak times.
Rooms
6.0
Did not stay in a room but the camping spots offered a beautiful view, albeit mostly unpaved.
Service
5.0
Service was lacking; the clubhouse hours were limited and deliveries like firewood did not arrive as promised.
Location
7.0
The location offers a breathtaking river view, but accessing it can be tricky due to unpaved roads.
Dining
Facilities
5.0
Facilities need some serious upgrades; the hot tub was down, and the shower house was clean but outdated.

The Riverside campground has a lovely riverside setting that offers a nice escape, but it leaves a lot to be desired in terms of maintenance and infrastructure. While some amenities show promise, there are significant concerns regarding cleanliness and electrical issues that made my stay less enjoyable. It has potential, but it really needs proper investment and attention to the details to elevate the experience.
Rooms
5.0
The sites were primarily on dirt and sparse grass, and it was disappointing that no full hook-up sites were available during my visit.
Service
5.0
The check-in process was confusing and poorly managed, and staff seemed indifferent to issues that arose around the campground.
Location
6.0
The riverside setting is beautiful, but the roads leading in were narrow and challenging, which detracted from the overall experience.
Dining
Facilities
5.0
The restroom and showers were recently improved, but they were not cleaned during my entire stay, which is unacceptable.
